Preliminary landscape painting fall 2009 -Darcie Leighty
Fall seems to be a time of creative pause for me. It is not necessarily by choice, preference or planning. It just never seems to fail that my available creative time is pinched to a minimum in the fall. I don't look forward to the break and yet it seems essential to the gestation of my creative production. Once the habit of daily painting is broken it is hard to find the motivation to return to the art studio. Fortunately, there comes a point where the craving to create out-weighs the business of autumn and a new season of paintings begin.
For me, Fall is the most dynamic of all the seasons as it is a tremendous time of transition. Your creative pause and gestation makes perfect sense! I look forward to seeing what you give "birth" to!
